Halfway through the darkness

A light flickers far ahead in the distance

Something is stirring

An idea

A feeling

A sense of something new, yet familiar

I think I've been here before

But it's been so long

I hardly remember the warmth

The light is slowly growing brighter

Illuminating what I couldn't see before

It's definitely there

Undeniable

Impossible to ignore

I press forward to follow it

The darkness is fading now

It enveloped me for so long

Becoming all I knew

Erasing

Undoing

Altering

Memories of better days

Making them seem like only dreams

But the darkness is fading

In the distance, a new beginning

What is frozen begins to melt

What is below begins to surface

What is dormant begins to live

It takes time

Patience

Trust

To see it happening

The light strengthens slowly

It reveals the path, the way out of the dark

The way to live again

Halfway through the darkness

Beginning to see the light

Remembering what it brings
